• Send a CARD saying THANK YOU
• Print off a thank you poem and give it to a special parent/carer you know
• Email one of our thank you poems
• Send a thank you text message
• Give a thank you gift and attach one of our poems
• Next time you see a struggling parent in the supermarket with a screaming child in tow, stop, smile at them and tell them they’re doing a GOOD JOB!
• Make a mental note to never again ask a parent “Do you work?...” Instead acknowledge them for everything they are sacrificing to actually do their job!
• Hugs
• Make dinner & clean up for them
• Anything you can do to make their life easier is a great way to say Thank You

The project, which was celebrated for the first time in February 2008, was designed as a way to really let parents know that they are undertaking a valued & respected job, despite their not actually being paid for it.

Unlike other paid professions, parents & carers in the home rarely get acknowledged or validated for their hard work. And so Thank You Day is their day to be honoured.

Thank you Day emerged from one mothers vision to make a difference for parents in the home...and there is no reason why YOU couldn't do exactly the same thing! If your town / council doesn't yet celebrate Thank You Day, you have the power to do something about it.

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE to take a stand for the amazing men and women who choose to be at home parents, and you would also have the opportunity to be a real leader in spreading the message of their worth and value in our society.

Thank You to everyone who came along to help us celebrate & a special thank you to the following indoor play-centres who hosted the day:

Monkey G's Playcentre, 17/25 Bald Hill Rd, Pakenham (Mel Ref: 317 E9)

Both venues enjoyed capacity crowds & a lot of fun was had by all!

UPDATE: We raised over $450 from both the Pakenham & Hallam TYD raffles! So thank you to all those who took part! All proceeds will be donated to the VICTORIAN BUSHFIRE APPEAL
